Apple yesterday updated their product line for the holiday season. Weirdly enough, Apple did this only two days before Microsoft’s new operating system, Windows 7 is released.

iMac

The new iMac is thinner, features a smaller chin, an aluminum back and the glossy black border of the screen now reaches all the way to both sides of the iMac. The new iMac now comes standard with a wireless keyboard and the new Magic Mouse. With the use of special adapters that are coming soon the iMac’s beautiful screen can now be used as an extra monitor for your Macbook or other computer. The new iMac can now be bought with either a 21.5 inch screen or a 27 inch screen, both crystal clear.

MacBook

Apple has drastically improved the MacBook with yesterdays refresh. The Macbook now features a sturdy polycarbonate unibody enclosure, a glass trackpad and a LED backlit display.

Mac Mini

The new mac mini is faster, cheaper and can now be purchased with up to 500 GB of storage. For those of you that are looking to use a Mac Mini as a server, you can now buy a Mac Mini that has Mac OS X Server pre-installed, dual 500 GB hard drives and 4 GB of RAM for $1000. Before I forget, the server mac Mini does not come with a disc drive.

Time Capsule/Airport Extreme

The Time Capsule and Airport Extreme are now faster with improved antennas.

Apple Remote

The Apple remote is now aluminum, works with both Macintosh computers made after 2005 and the Apple Universal Dock for iPhone and iPod.

Magic Mouse (previously known as Mighty Mouse)

Apple has made some significant improvements to its mouse. The new mouse has no buttons but instead has a multi-touch surface and looks like it is from the future.

What do you think? Do you like what Apple has done with their product line? Has Apple’s update made you want to buy any of the updated products?
