The Samsung Gravity 2 for T-Mobile is a full keyboard phone, just like the original Samsung Gravity. The only difference actually is that the Samsung Gravity 2 has a 2 megapixel camera which is an upgrade from the 1.3 megapixel camera on the original Samsung Gravity. The Gravity 2 also has a built in GPS and supports 3G network speeds. Those are the only upgrades Samsung made on the Gravity but in my opinion, they made a downgrade on the look.

I think that the original Samsung Gravity had a better look and color selection. The second has more of a curved look and comes in orange A.K.A. Metallic Pumpkin or in purple A.K.A. Berry Mauve. The original Gravity came in grey/green and aqua/white. Personally, I liked the original colors better and the shape of the first phone better.

T-Mobile has made it a requirement with the Gravity 2 that you purchase a data plan. For most of us that are looking to buy the Samsung Gravity, we are wanting a phone that is just easy to text with not a phone that we have to pay an extra $30.00 dollars a month for! If we wanted that we would have just saved up for a Blackberry or some other Smartphone!

All together, even though the original Samsung Gravity and the Samsung Gravity 2 are both $29.99 at the moment, you end up spending an extra $30.00 a month with the second one. Don’t forget that when you buy the T-Mobile Samsung Gravity 2 that you are going to have to sign a 2-year service agreement! Overall I think that the original Samsung Gravity is better, but if you want a phone with internet you might as well get yourself a Blackberry, with a better web browser and a full keyboard, rather then the Gravity 2.

$199 For iPhone 3G S? Seriously?

This is a guest post by Aqual Al:

Right now Apple and AT&T are asking $199 for the iPhone 3G S. The real question is, is it really worth the money to get the 3G S instead of the 3G? When you compare the 3G and the 3G S you start to think, what is the point of buying a 3G S?

Well thats what I am thinking. First of all becuase the only difference between the two is that the 3G S has a 3.2 megapixel camera w/video camera instead of just a 2.0 megapixel camera with no video camera and it is also supposed to be faster. I mean how much faster can it get? A couple of milliseconds is not going to make a huge difference in your life if your like me.

Personally I think it is just a waste to spend $100 more for the 3G S because it’s not like we mainly use the iPhone for the camera. I mean if you wanted a camera, with those $100 you saved buying a 3G instead of a 3G S you could go ahead and buy yourslef a way better camera than the one on the 3G S.

Then there is the video camera, which I think is a huge gimmick. I mean so most of you guys have heard of people jailbreaking their phones and stuff like that. When you jailbreak your iPhone there is supposedly an app store where you can get all these cool apps and you can even get an app that enables the video camera! Even on the iPhone 3G!

Oh, and lets not forget the compass: the most gimmicky thing of all!

Those are my reasons on why the 3G S in my opinion is a waste of $199. You might as well buy an iPhone 3G and save $100! In this economy we are all looking for ways to save some money here and buying a 3G S is not going to save us any money.
