Review: Dropbox
Let’s say that you own 3 computers. A computer for work, a desktop computer for your home and a laptop computer for while you’re on-the-go. You are on your work computer when you realize that you need the photo you took yesterday but it is on your laptop. If you would have been using Dropbox, you wouldn’t of had this problem!
Dropbox is a simple and free application that runs on any operating system (Linux, OS 10, and windows) and even your iPhone. When you download Dropbox you will be prompted to choose where you want your Dropbox folder. Your Dropbox folder is a place where you can store files and have them backed up to the cloud incase you accidentally delete a file. What’s even cooler is that you can download the same application on all your other computers (assuming you have more that one computer) and all the Dropbox folders on all of your computers synchronize with each other. When you download the Dropbox app for iPhone form the iTunes app store you can both view what you have saved on your Dropbox and you can upload photos and videos.
What Dropbox is doing is giving you a folder for you to put files in. This folder is synced between all your computers and is even accessible on the web.
The good:
- Fast
- Great iPhone application
- Boosts productivity
- Easy
- Simple
- Cross-platform
The bad:
- Can’t think of anything!!
My rating:
5/5 stars.
The bottom line:
Dropbox is a great application for your iPhone and any operating system. I think that everyone who owns multiple computers should have this application.
FREE, for a 2GB version. If 2GB is not enough space for you, here are the upgrade prices:
