Last week when Apple introduced iPhone 3.1 and the new iPods they also talked about iTunes 9. They told us that iTunes 9 would be available for download starting that day and they talked abut the new features of the new iTunes.

In iTunes 9 Apple did not totally redo iTunes, they just made it better, sort of like they did with Snow Leopard.

Some of the new features they added in iTunes 9:

  • iTunes LP (extra content when buying albums)
  • Home Sharing
  • Redesigned iTunes Store
  • Genius Mixes
  • Improved Syncing

My thoughts on Apple's September 9th event

Yesterday was Apple’s “It’s only rock and roll, but we like it” event and they made some changes to their IPod product line.

Some things they went over at the event were:

  • New colors for iPod Shuffle and lower price.
  • Lower prices on the iPod Touch and new 64GB Touch with a speed increase.
  • New video camera on iPod Nano and lowered prices.
  • More storage and lowered prices on iPod Classic.
  • iTunes 9
  • iPhone OS 3.1
