Sony announces PS3 Slim

Sony today announced at the GamesCom event in Germany that yes, the PS3 Slim is real!

What’s New?

A few, smart things.

  • Price drop of $100 from $399.
  • The PS3 Slim will be 33% smaller and 36% lighter.
  • New matte casing to replace the PS3′s glossiness.
  • Lowest end configuration ($299) to have a 120 GB HD. Highest end ($399) to have 160 GB HD.

The price of the previous PS3 has also lowered $100 if you like them more that the PS3 Slim and have been wanting to buy one.
